From Chrome Web Store to your first transcript

Install, connect your account, open a browser meeting, and start the meeting recorder yourself.

Add the extension

Open the official Chrome Web Store listing, select Add to Chrome, and confirm the installation.

Connect Meetlens

Create or sign in to your Meetlens account, then complete the web setup opened by the extension.

Start recording

Click the Meetlens toolbar icon, choose a report type, and press Start recording.

Stop and review

Stop capture when the call ends. Meetlens uploads the recording and prepares the workspace result.

Use Meetlens where the meeting runs in a browser tab

The extension is designed for supported web meetings. Native Zoom and Teams desktop applications sit outside Chrome, so the extension cannot capture them.

How capture works

The extension records only after you start it

The recorder handles capture and upload; transcription and AI processing happen in the Meetlens web service after the recording.

Meeting audio from the current tab

Meetlens uses Chrome tab capture for the meeting you opened. Your microphone is added only when you choose to grant microphone access.

What do I need before installing the Meetlens Chrome extension?
Use desktop Google Chrome version 116 or newer, an internet connection, and a Meetlens account. Install the extension from the official Chrome Web Store listing, then complete the account connection opened by the extension.
Which meeting platforms work with the extension?
Meetlens supports browser meetings on Google Meet, Zoom Web, Microsoft Teams Web, and Webex. The meeting must run in a browser tab: the Chrome extension cannot capture audio from the native Zoom or Microsoft Teams desktop application.
How does Meetlens record a meeting without a bot?
After you press Start recording, the extension captures audio from the active meeting tab. If you explicitly grant microphone access, it can add your microphone audio as well. Meetlens does not join the participant list; when you stop, the recording is uploaded to your account for transcription and AI processing.
What permissions does the extension use?
The extension uses active-tab and tab-audio capture, local storage for authentication and recorder state, an offscreen document for recording, a side panel for controls, scripting for supported meeting pages, and alarms for recorder health checks. Microphone access is requested separately and only when you enable it. The Privacy Policy explains each permission in detail.
Is the Meetlens Chrome extension free?
Yes. The extension is free to install and works with the Free plan, which currently includes 180 processing minutes per month and a 60-minute limit for one recording. No credit card is required. Paid plans increase the usage limits and add plan-specific features.
Do other participants see a Meetlens bot?
No. Meetlens captures the meeting tab from your browser and does not enter the call as another participant. You are still responsible for informing participants and following the recording and consent laws that apply to the meeting.
What happens after I stop recording?
The extension finishes the upload and Meetlens processes the recording in the web service. When processing is complete, open the meeting in your private workspace to review the transcript, speaker labels, AI notes, action items, and selected report format.
How do I remove the extension?
Open chrome://extensions, find Meetlens Recorder, and select Remove. Removing the extension clears its local browser data. Meetings already uploaded to your Meetlens account remain in your workspace until you delete them there.
