Yes. The Meetlens Chrome extension is free to install. It works with the free Meetlens plan — 180 minutes of meetings per month, no credit card required. Lite and Pro plans unlock more minutes and features, but the extension itself is the same.
The extension requests tab audio capture (to record the meeting), local storage (for your auth token and UI preferences), a side panel (for the recorder controls), and a microphone — only if you opt in to mic recording. Host access is limited to app.meetlens.ai; meeting sites (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, Telemost, Webex) are accessed only via temporary content scripts when you're on those tabs. Meetlens records the audio of your meeting tab locally in your browser, then uploads it to your Meetlens account. It does not join the call as a participant or bot, so other people will not see a Meetlens attendee in the call. Note that some meeting platforms display a local recording indicator to you (and sometimes to others) when tab audio is being captured. Recording laws vary by jurisdiction — please follow your local consent rules.
Open chrome://extensions in your browser, find Meetlens Recorder, and click Remove. Your auth token and local preferences are deleted along with the extension. Recordings already uploaded to your Meetlens account stay there until you delete them from your dashboard.
Yes. The extension runs in any Chromium-based browser on any operating system — Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera, and others — as long as the browser is on version 116 or newer. The browser itself handles cross-platform audio capture, so the experience is identical on macOS, Windows, and Linux.
