Upload audio files — transcription, notes & reports

Drag in an mp3, m4a, wav, ogg, or webm file. Meetlens transcribes, separates speakers, generates notes and reports, identical to a live call. Most files are ready within minutes of upload. Legacy archives, podcasts, lectures, dial-in conference recordings, all work. Video file upload (mp4, mov) is on the roadmap; for now extract the audio track first.

how it works

Upload, process, review

Three stages, no setup. Processing is identical to a live Meetlens call — minus the live stream.

1
UPLOAD

Drag, drop, or pick a file

Drag a recording into the workspace or use the file picker. Audio files (mp3, m4a, wav, ogg, webm) upload directly. Uploads run at your connection speed, no queue, no batch wait. Video file support (mp4, mov) is on the roadmap. For now, extract the audio track first or record the meeting tab live with the Chrome extension.

2
PROCESS

Same pipeline as live meetings

Transcription, language detection (99+ languages), speaker separation, AI notes, action items, and AI Reports all run automatically. The only thing missing vs. a live call is the streaming transcript — and that's because the recording is already finished, not because of any limitation.

3
REVIEW

Ready within minutes of upload

Transcript appears first; AI notes and reports follow shortly after. You see progress in the workspace, and the moment processing finishes the recording opens with the full feature set — meeting chat included. Longer files take longer than shorter ones.

use cases

What can I do with uploaded meeting recordings?

Four scenarios where the recording is already done, but the indexing hasn't happened yet.

Legacy meeting archives

Years of Zoom Cloud recordings sitting unindexed. Extract the audio track and upload the important ones to turn a dead archive into a searchable workspace. Every commitment, decision, and quote becomes findable via workspace search or meeting chat.

Recordings from other tools

Calls recorded on the customer's preferred platform, dial-in conference lines, in-person sessions captured on a phone. Upload the file — same speaker separation, same AI report templates, same export options as a Meetlens-native call.

Podcasts & interview series

Drop in each episode for a clean, speaker-attributed transcript — useful for show notes, social clips, SEO-indexed episode pages, and accessibility captions. Meeting chat lets you search across the whole season for guest quotes by topic.

Lectures, webinars, training material

Educators upload lecture recordings and get a fully transcribed, searchable session — students can scrub to specific topics, instructors can extract action items from Q&A. Same pipeline works for company webinars, training-day recordings, and conference talks.

The most common audio containers are supported. Video file upload (mp4, mov) is on the roadmap.

faq

Questions, answered

Everything teams ask before switching to Meetlens.

What file formats are supported?
Audio only today: mp3, m4a, wav, ogg, webm. Video file upload (mp4, mov) is on the roadmap. If your recording is in a video container, extract the audio track first or record the meeting tab live with the Chrome extension. Most desktop tools (QuickTime, VLC, ffmpeg) can extract an mp3 or m4a track in a few seconds.
Is there a file-size or length limit?
Free and Lite plans accept files up to 1 GB per upload. Pro raises that to 3 GB. Per-recording duration is capped by plan: 30 minutes on Free, 90 minutes on Lite, 120 minutes on Pro. Monthly minute budget is also plan-gated (180 / 700 / 2000). Very long files can be split into two uploads if they exceed the plan limit.
Does uploaded audio get the same AI processing as live meetings?
Yes, identical processing. Transcription, 99+ language detection, speaker separation, AI notes, action items, and AI report templates all run on uploaded files exactly the same way as on a live recording from the Chrome extension. The only difference is the source (file vs tab capture); the downstream output is the same.
Can I import from Zoom Cloud / Google Drive / Dropbox?
Direct cloud integrations are on the roadmap. Today, download the recording (audio track) from Zoom Cloud / Drive / Dropbox to your computer and drag it into Meetlens. It's typically faster than the cloud-to-cloud transfer would be anyway. Files upload at your connection speed, no waiting in a queue.
How long does processing take?
Usually within minutes of upload. Longer files take longer than shorter ones, but you don't have to wait at the screen — a progress indicator shows in the workspace, and the meeting opens with the full feature set the moment processing finishes.
Is the recording private?
Yes. Uploaded files are stored in your account, accessible only to you and people you explicitly share with. We don't train on customer audio, don't sell it, and don't share it beyond what's needed to run the service. Files are encrypted at rest. See the privacy page for the full data-handling breakdown.
