How Meetlens works with Zoom
Meetlens is a Zoom note taker and transcription tool for meetings opened in Chrome. You start capture from the extension, Meetlens records the active Zoom Web tab, and the result is processed after the call. It is separate from Zoom cloud recording and does not join the meeting as a participant.

AI note taker for Zoom: choose the browser workflow
Join in Zoom Web inside Chrome before starting Meetlens. If the invitation opens the Zoom desktop application instead, return to a supported browser meeting; the extension cannot capture the desktop app.
Start capture from the meeting tab. Include your microphone when you want your own voice in the recording, then stop Meetlens when the conversation is finished. Review the resulting transcript and notes in Meetlens, not the Zoom cloud recording panel.
Already recorded the call with Zoom? Import a supported media file instead. Meetlens does not recover recordings you cannot access or bypass the meeting organizer's restrictions. Obtain required permission before recording.

Can Meetlens transcribe Zoom meetings?
Yes. Open the Zoom meeting in its web client, start Meetlens in Chrome, and stop it when the call ends. Meetlens then produces a timestamped transcript with speaker labels and AI outputs.
Can Meetlens record the Zoom desktop app?
No. Chrome extensions can capture a browser tab, not audio from the native Zoom desktop application. Use Zoom Web in Chrome or import an existing supported recording file.
Where is my Meetlens Zoom recording stored?
The completed meeting appears in your Meetlens web workspace after upload and processing. It is not placed in Zoom cloud recordings or your local Zoom recording folder.
Does Meetlens join my Zoom meeting as a bot?
No. Meetlens captures audio from the active Zoom Web tab after you start the Chrome extension, so it does not appear as another participant.
Does Meetlens record Zoom video or my screen?
No. Meetlens records meeting-tab audio and, if you enable it, your microphone. It does not capture camera video or screen pixels.
When is the Zoom transcript ready?
Processing starts after you stop recording. Meetlens uploads the audio and prepares the transcript, speaker labels, AI notes, selected report, and timeline in your workspace.
Is Meetlens free for Zoom?
The Chrome extension is free to install. The current Free plan includes 180 processing minutes per month and up to 60 minutes per recording, with no credit card required.
Can I import an existing Zoom recording?
Yes. Meetlens accepts supported audio and video files through recording import, including MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, WebM, and MP4, subject to your plan limits.
