What is an AI meeting recorder?

AI meeting recording software captures a conversation and turns the recording into searchable text and structured follow-up. Meetlens records audio from a supported Chrome meeting tab without adding a bot participant. After you stop, the web service prepares a transcript with speaker labels and timestamps, plus AI-generated notes, decisions, action items, and a selected report format.

What does the Meetlens meeting recorder capture?
Meetlens captures audio from the active supported meeting tab after you start recording. If you explicitly grant microphone permission, it can include your microphone audio. It does not record camera video or screen pixels.
Can I record a meeting without adding a bot?
Yes. Meetlens uses a Chrome extension to capture the meeting tab, so no Meetlens participant joins the call. You start and stop recording yourself and remain responsible for informing participants and obtaining any required consent.
Which meeting platforms can I record?
The extension supports browser calls on Google Meet, Zoom Web, Microsoft Teams Web, and Webex. Zoom and Teams must run in a browser tab; their native desktop applications cannot be captured by the Chrome extension.
Does Meetlens record video or my screen?
No. The current Meetlens extension records audio from the active meeting tab and, when enabled, your microphone. It is not a video, webcam, or screen-pixel recorder.
What happens when I stop the recording?
Meetlens finishes uploading the audio and processes it in the web service. The completed meeting can include a timestamped transcript, speaker labels, AI notes, action items, a selected report format, and a clickable timeline for review.
Is the AI meeting recorder free?
The Chrome extension is free to install. The Meetlens Free plan currently includes 180 processing minutes per month, up to 60 minutes for one recording, and no credit card requirement. Paid plans increase recording and monthly limits.
Can I upload a recording I already have?
Yes. Use the recording import flow for an existing MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, WebM, or MP4 file. You can also import a prepared TXT transcript. File size and recording-duration limits depend on the plan.
Do I need permission to record an online meeting?
Recording and consent requirements depend on the participants, organization, and jurisdictions involved. Tell participants that you are recording and obtain any consent required by applicable law or company policy.
